The OutBack Power Radian Series GS8048A-01 grid-interactive inverter adds new grid support functionality which can prevent loss of power generation due to grid disturbances with voltage and frequency ride through.

UL 1741 SA: Standard for Safety—inverters, converters, controller and interconnection systems equipment for use with distributed energy resources. Grid support or “smart inverter” functionality will be required by Hawaii and California beginning September 8, 2017. UL 1741 SA is the new safety standard certifying products which meet the rigorous requirements needed to ensure safe and reliable operation in support of grid modernization efforts.

OutBack Power has two bundles available for AC Coupling, the GS4048A-AC and GS8048A-AC. These have either the GS4048A or GS8048A Radian Inverter/Charger. The GS8048A-AC can have up to 6kW grid tie inverter capacity coupled to it, and the GS4048A-AC can have up to 3kW of grid tie inverter capacity coupled to it. More recent grid tie inverters that are listed to UL1741-SA will modulate their output with the frequency shift in the Radian inverter.

All packages include a factory pre-wired and tested FLEXpower Radian, Outback Power EnergyCell 200PLR Batteries, Integrated Battery Rack, OPTICS RE web enabled monitoring and control and all necessary connection hardware.

ConextTM SW is perfect for off-grid, backup power and self-consumption applications, it is a pure sine wave, hybrid inverter system with switchable 50/60 Hz frequencies, providing power for every need. For expanded off-grid capacity, the Conext SW is integrated with fuel-based generators as required to support loads larger than the generator’s output. It’s also self consumption ready, able to prioritize solar consumption over the grid, while maintaining zero grid export. The Conext SW works with the grid to avoid peak utility charges and support the grid when utility supply is limited. Accessories include pre-wired universal DC distribution panel and AC distribution panels. Stacking two Conext SW units will double the system’s total output power and available solar charge controllers allow for the integration of solar capacity as required.
